After drawing and scanning each pose I animated them in Photoshop. I included a reverse motion to make a continuously looping video but I'll have to revisit this and correct the export problem.

One of the drawing exercises we had to do was to draw our hand opening. Starting with a closed fist and ending with an open palm, we had to make 10 drawings at 1/10th intervals of this action. These drawings could then be scanned and animated to replicate the movement. I have an animation of the drawings that I made. Although it animated on a continuous loop, which looks better, it didn't export to video as a looped animation and so it's only 1 second long. I guess the drawing part was the most important bit of this exercise. I actually found it hard to do. Keeping the scale consistent was difficult as was holding each pose. In the end I had to cheat a little in that I photographed each pose. Even this was hard enough to do - breaking the movement into 10 separate equally spaced poses.
